Check the length

Words change length from day to day, from four to eight letters. The board shows how many letters today’s word has.

Guess in six tries

Type any letters that fit. Red means the right letter in the right spot, gold means it’s in the word elsewhere, and grey means it isn’t there.

Learn the meaning

When the game ends, you see what the word means, so every round teaches you something new about Jewish life and language.

What is Jewdle?

Jewdle is a Jewish version of Wordle. The answers are words from Jewish life and culture: Hebrew and Yiddish words, holidays, foods, prayers, rituals and people from the Torah. Because the words come from several languages, many use English spellings of Hebrew or Yiddish, like CHALLAH, MITZVAH or KVETCH.

This page is a free Jewdle-style word game you can play online in any browser. The daily Jewdle changes at midnight Toronto time, so everyone guesses the same word today. Jewdle unlimited mode gives you a new word whenever you like.

Since spellings of Hebrew and Yiddish words vary, the game accepts any letters you type, not just dictionary words. Use the category hint if you get stuck, and read the meaning at the end.
