What is the Betweenle game?
Betweenle is a word guessing game built on alphabetical order rather than letter colours. You don’t learn which letters are right. Instead, each guess tells you whether the secret word comes before or after it, like finding a page in a dictionary.
This page is a free Betweenle-style word game you can play online in any browser. The daily word changes at midnight Toronto time, so everyone guesses the same word today. Unlimited mode gives you more words, and Custom lets you pick a word and send a challenge link to a friend.
When the top and bottom words start with the same letters, those letters must start the secret word too, so they appear as a hint in your guess row.

Betweenle hints and strategy
Cut the range in half
Guess a word near the middle of the gap. Halving the range each time is the fastest way to reach the word inside 12 guesses.
Read the percentage
A small number means the word is near the bottom word. A big one means it is far above it.
Lock the first letter
Find the first letter quickly. Words starting with M or S are a good opening split.
Use the shared start
Once both bounds share letters, type them first and only work on the rest.
Think like a dictionary
Say the alphabet in your head. Is the word before or after HOUSE? That’s all each guess asks.
